Danfoss FlatStations support luxury living at Capital Towers

SAV Systems has supplied 191 Danfoss FlatStation 7 Series heat interface units with integral energy meters to the Capital Towers luxury residential development overlooking the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in east London.

Developed by Galliard Homes, Capital Towers comprises the 14-level City West Tower and 34-level Sky View Tower, providing 191 private luxury residences. Heating and domestic hot water are provided via a heat network served by a central energy centre, designed by consulting engineers Whitecode Design Associates. Each of the apartments is fitted with a FlatStation to ensure that heating and hot water supplies remain consistent by compensating for any variation in loads, supply temperatures and differential pressures. The integral energy meters provide consumption data for billing and energy monitoring purposes. Installed by building services contractor J S Wright & Co Ltd, the FlatStations also maintain a high temperature differential between flow and return water temperatures to achieve low primary temperatures to facilitate optimum efficiency of the central heating plant.

Big Ideas and Bold Conversations

In the afternoon, we welcomed guests to the CIBSE Heat Network Symposium at Manor Place.

There were expert talks on heat network design, new rules and regulations, and how to make things better for residents.

We also had a lively panel discussion with industry leaders and a chance to meet others working in the sector over food and drinks.
