Combining LoadTracker CHP with heat pumps

Twenty-two young engineers recently attended a CIBSE accredited CPD seminar, organised by SAV Systems in conjunction with Mitsubishi Electric and CIBSE Young Engineers Network (YEN) South West. Entitled ‘Optimised Heat and Power – Heat Pumps’, the seminar addressed the detail of system design combining modulating LoadTracker CHP with Mitsubishi heat pumps to achieve even higher efficiencies.

This arrangement, the presenters explained, is particularly suitable for projects with low electrical demand and high thermal demand. Following the initial presentation, the capacity audience engaged in a lively and informative discussion, followed by refreshments. Special thanks go to Tom deBoeck, chairman of the CIBSE YEN and an associate at Hoare Lea consultants for his support.

Big Ideas and Bold Conversations

In the afternoon, we welcomed guests to the CIBSE Heat Network Symposium at Manor Place.

There were expert talks on heat network design, new rules and regulations, and how to make things better for residents.

We also had a lively panel discussion with industry leaders and a chance to meet others working in the sector over food and drinks.
