Randall Close
In Battersea, London, the Surrey Lane Estate has long been a familiar landmark. Today, it stands as the setting for one of Wandsworth Council’s most ambitious housing projects – Randall Close, the largest development within its “Homes for Wandsworth” initiative. The goal: to deliver 1,000 new council homes in 5–7 years. Randall Close marks a significant step toward that vision. With 106 affordable rental homes, communal landscaped spaces, and modern energy infrastructure, it has become both a symbol of progressive social housing and a blueprint for sustainable redevelopment in urban settings. During construction, the project drew attention from local leadership, including Aydin Dikerdem, then Cabinet Member for Housing, who recognised it as a milestone in council-led housing delivery.
