Alperton Yard
For over 80 years, the Alperton Bus Garage in the London Borough of Brent served as a vital part of the city’s transport network. Built by the London Passenger Transport Board in 1939, the garage was a hub for the capital’s iconic red buses, surviving bomb damage during the Blitz and later expanding in the 1970s. In more recent years, the site remained in active use, earning recognition as London Bus Garage of the Year in 2015. But by 2021, it became clear that the garage’s next journey would be one of urban transformation.
