University of Hertfordshire
Delivering high-performance, low-noise ventilation for a modern university research environment. At the University of Hertfordshire in Hatfield, the refurbishment of the Health Research Block formed part of a wider commitment to provide high-quality teaching and research facilities for staff and students. The building needed to support varied occupancy patterns, while maintaining a calm and comfortable indoor environment to promote focused academic work. Working alongside SMP Consulting Engineers and Redstar Plumbing & Mechanical Services Ltd, the University sought a ventilation strategy that would quietly and reliably serve densely occupied spaces without compromising the architectural intent. The challenge was to achieve strong indoor air quality performance within a sensitive refurbishment context.
