Hybrid Energy Centres

CHP, Electric Boilers & Heat Pumps - 4G heat networks

What you need to know

Optimised heat and power for Maximised CHP % share. SAV LoadTracker combined heat and power (CHP) units tackle the key issues that constrain conventional ‘fixed output’ CHP performance, thereby supporting system design in line with best practice.

The result is responsive CHP systems that maximise run times and minimise energy consumption & carbon emissions.

Electric boilers are used to provide peak capacity in all-electric buildings, allowing the energy share from heat pumps to be maximised without the capital expense and space required for an all-heat pump installation.

Electric Boilers are 100% efficient, with no combustion, flue or gas-safe requirements. They deliver high grade heat to ensure a robust, reliable plantroom. Ideal as backup and to ensure system resilience.

Features

Utilizing waste heat

De-centralised CHP power generation has 28% lower carbon footprint and 45% lower energy cost compared to gas fired power stations.

CHP and Heat Pump integration

To provide an integrated low carbon design, heat pumps are a incorporated in the energy centre to use site-generated CHP electricity. This promotes longer CHP running hours, cost savings and a smaller site footprint whilst the heat pump thermal output helps to meet site thermal load by preheating return water.

Front - end Support

To secure planning permission for construction projects can be a time-consuming process. When it comes to energy usage, involvement by specialist assessors can be expected at an early stage. SAV’s CHP Group are well-placed to help with this aspect by providing CHP assessments of different scenarios.
