Monolink Commissioning Modules
Monolinks offer a further option for the control of Fan Coil Units (FCUs) & Air Handling Units (AHUs). The essential point with Monolinks is that they place the isolation and control valves next to the terminal unit. These ‘H’ shaped modules are extremely compact, and enable the installer to make rapid and reliable connections to terminal units. With only 4 site connections to make, they are great time-savers!
Monolinks can be arranged with a commissioning set on the flow leg, which allows system balancing on constant volume systems:
CS Monolink for 15-50mm connections
For variable volume systems, Monolinks can be provided with a Pressure Independent Control Valve, supplied complete with actuator head. The PICV is essentially a 2-port valve, operating under a constant pressure differential provided by an integral DPCV. This means that the 2-port control will operate with excellent authority across the range.
ABQM Monolink for 15-32mm connections
Both Monolink versions are provided with full-bore bypass for system flush. Commissioning and periodic maintenance are further assisted by an in-line strainer. This component comes with integral ball valve, to allow isolation for occasional cleaning.
To enable flow measurement through each Monolink, binder measuring points with 5D preceding straight come as standard.
SAV specify high quality CIM ball isolators, equipped with extended nylon handles. These enable comfortable access and firm hand purchase after thermal insulation is completed.
Once the FCU or AHU schedules on a project become available, SAV can go to work on the sizing of Monolinks for each individual terminal unit. This assessment ensures that commissioning sets (or PICVs) and flow measurement devices are optimised in relation to pressure drop, valve authority and accuracy of flow measurement.
With only 4 site connections per Monolink and all other connections hydraulically tested at works , your installer may well be glad to see them on your next project!
