Valve actuators installed in residential premises should be compact, noiseless and maintenance-free. Moehlenhoff actuators tick all 3 boxes, and a great many more.
Actuation is by simple thermoelectric piston, enabling highly accurate stroke movement which is proportional to operating voltage. On de-energisation, movement is by return spring.
Moehlenhoff actuators can be supplied either normally closed (NC) or normally open (NO). However, to assist with system commissioning, a ‘first-open function’ override is often used. This enables filling and flushing of pipe work, even though wiring may not yet be complete. When the system is ready for commissioning, the first-open function is disarmed by applying operating voltage for 6 minutes, leaving the actuator ready for service. How’s that for detail?
The Moehlenhoff range is very extensive, which means that almost all design requirements can be accommodated. Options include 24v, 120v and 230v versions. Snap-on collars mean that Moehlenhoff actuators can fit all well-known makes of line valve.

Moehlenhoff Room Thermostats
Effortless ambient temperature control is made possible by the great choice of features offered by the Moehlenhoff actuators. Designed to partner thermoelectric actuators, Moehlenhoff room thermostats can be set to operate in normal, economy or timer modes.
Contact ratings can deal with up to 5 actuators per stat. Temperature control is by pulse-width modulation, which avoids overshoot during heat up. During night periods, the ‘setback’ facility reduces set point automatically by between 2 - 6°C. If the property is left vacant during winter, a preset of 5°C ensures protection against freezing. When the heating system is inactive during warm weather, actuators are stroked once daily to ensure readiness when heating is re-established.
Moehlenhoff room stats have a separable mounting base. This means that wiring terminations can be made good to the base, with the stats kept in safe storage until such time as rooms are deemed to be secure. Unauthorised re-setting can be curtailed by protective cover plates. A choice of 12 colours including white, office grey, yellow, bronze and blue is available to cater for all interior design styles and preferences.
Internal sensors can be selected for residential applications. Alternatively, sensors for mounting in adjoining rooms can be offered for use in public buildings. This approach can also be used to maintain minimum floor temperature in bathrooms. Where site wiring is difficult to install for whatever reason, Moehlenhoff can provide radio-control of room temperature. The wireless version has a range of 25m, using emitted power of only 10 milliwatt.
Moehlenhoff Terminal Blocks
To simplify connections between room stats and actuators, the Alpha Basis terminal blocks provide a modular approach which is flexible and easy to install. Extension modules can easily be added, either to increase the number of circuits served, or to enhance functionality. For example, timer modules can be incorporated for automatic temperature setback.
There again, pump modules can maintain power with demand signals from any thermostat in the array. Without such signals, the pump is put on standby. Should 24 hours elapse in this condition, the pump drive is re-energised for a 5-minute interval, thus reducing the possibility of seizure.

Moehlenhoff actuators can be purchased directly from SAV Systems, with delivery arranged anywhere in the UK / ROI.
For regular purchases of large quantities of actuators and ancillaries, you may wish to consider OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer). Moehlenhoff OEM versions can be readily brand-marked for easy incorporation within the purchaser’s product line. Furtehrmore, thermostat scales can be designed to match the customer’s house style. Packaging can be printed with customer’s logo and details.
The aim is to help the Moehlenhoff OEM range fit completely naturally within the customer’s catalogue or on-line store. SAV Systems have the logistics to handle large product volume in a prompt and efficient manner.
