SAV Systems has won through to the finals of the H&V News Awards 2013, with the West Bridge Mill multi-residential accommodation being shortlisted in the ‘time-proven project’ category. SAV was involved with the project from the early design stages, working closely with other members of the design team to ensure that the CHP was sized correctly to maximise the energy, cost and carbon saving benefits.
SAV’s AirMaster direct, zone-specific, Demand Controlled Ventilation air handling units with heat recovery have been voted Commercial / Industrial Ventilation Product of the Year in the HVR Awards 2012.
The Westfield Avenue multi-residential development in Edinburgh has won the Large Scale Housing Development Award in the Saltire Society Housing Design Awards 2012. The use of low carbon combined heat and power (CHP) and district heating from SAV Systems, supplied by East Linton based DBSA Ltd, played a significant role in enabling the development to meet the award’s sustainability criteria.
Combined Heat and Power (CHP) is a tried and tested low carbon technology that can make a significant contribution to reducing carbon emissions from heating and power generation, compared to a traditional mains power/boiler arrangement. However, the inflexibility of traditional CHP designs has tended to impose constraints on the environmental benefits that can be achieved.
West Bridge Mill in Kirkcaldy is an award-winning social housing facility operated by Link Group Housing Association. The former rope mill has been converted into 16 separate flats, all of which are served by SAV LoadTracker mini-CHP.
On 4th November 2011 SAV Systems officially opened its Low Carbon Technology Centre in Woking, Surrey. The event included a highly successful Open Day, featuring interactive workshops, CPD Seminars and a District Heating Symposium which introduced state-of-the-art green technologies.
