Manifold

In engineering terms, a manifold is essentially an arrangement of pipes used to distribute the flow of a fluid or gas. It may receive the fluid or gas from a single system and distribute it to several sub-systems, or vice versa.

Manifolds used in building services can be selected with integral isolators at each branch, which reduce the cost of supply / installation of separate isolators.

Manifolds deliver a number of key benefits, as they:

  • Reduce the number of connections to be made on site
  • Are extremely compact and allow a contractor to take advantage of awkward spaces on site.
  • Can be used in connection with numerous other fittings, such as air vents, drain valves, temperature gauges and DPCVs.
