Flexible Alupex Multilayer Piping Systems

Flexible Alupex piping systems can be installed easily and reliably. Elbows or bends are no longer necessary, with connection being required only at the ends. Support spacing is similar to that used for traditional copper piping systems.

SAV Supply Flexible Piping Systems

SAV Systems have sourced multilayer piping through HAKA GERODUR, a well-established manufacturer based in Switzerland. Their HAKA Polymet is rated for a maximum temperature of 95C (110C for short periods) and a working pressure of 12 bar. At these conditions, life expectancy of their flexible piping systems is anticipated to exceed 50 years.

Eliminating Pipe Corrosion with Alupex

Oxygen diffusion (where atmospheric oxygen makes its way into the pipe contents) is not a concern for Alupex piping systems. The aluminium pipe wall provides an absolutely gas tight boundary.

Given the chance, aluminium in water with either steel or copper will corrode due to electrolytic action. Alupex aluminium pipe walls are completely encased by polyethylene which is electrolytically inert, thus preventing any corrosion of the flexible piping system.

Special joints at the flexible pipe ends contain PTFE seals. These mean that encasement of the aluminium is complete, so any contact of the aluminium with water is completely prevented.

Aluminium Piping - both Flexible and Durable

There are no recorded instances of Alupex pipe corrosion. Polyethylene is chemically very stable and resistant to cleaning chemicals normally used during commissioning.
